Winter E3, also known as The Game Awards, will go live next week, and people are looking forward to what will be shown during the three-hour montage of trailers and awards. But if you were excited about the new Mortal Kombat or injustice 3 appearing unexpectedly, well, maybe you want to sit down. I have bad news to share.

During the 2018 Game Awards. NetherRealm Revealed Mortal Kombat 11 to the world by using bright cinematic trailer. Now, four unfathomably long years later, fans are wondering where the studio’s next game will be. In the past, studio creative director Ed Boon showed up every two years or so to announce the next big game. But that hasn’t happened yet, and some players are very concerned that the longest wait between NetherRealm projects is growing day by day. So, of course, many began to hope for the Game Awards on December 8th. Some have speculated that, as in 2018, Boone & Co. will use the annual show to show off his next big thing. But this does not happen directly from Boone himself.

Earlier today Boone tweeted that while he appreciates fans’ excitement about the studio’s next game, they aren’t ready to announce anything just yet.

“Four years ago at the Game Awards, we were able to unexpectedly announce MK11which turned out great,” Boon wrote. “Perhaps too great, as many assumed that we would repeat this trick in our next game. Thanks for waiting, but we’re not ready to announce the next NRS game yet.”

Of course, even with such a clear and direct message “No, we are not announcing the next injustice or Mortal Kombat next week, sorry”, some people still hope he’s not telling the whole truth. And in their defense, Ed Boon has been known to troll his online fans and contact them using memes or teasers. But here, it looks like he really super duper doesn’t want people to worry over trifles.

If you really want to, you can read his tweet and find some wiggle room that allows, for example, the studio is not ready to announce their next game… but they are ready to release it! And then the stealth drop of NetherRealm and WB. MK12 or injustice 3. But I wouldn’t believe in this wild theory because it will only end in your depression and idleness when it doesn’t. However, if you decide to sit down for The Game Awards anyway, you can win a free Steam deck for your trouble. It’s not MK12what is there?
