Clumsy hero, quirky anti-hero, now available for Xbox

Rufus is a simple peasant. He works on the farm, is somewhat cocky, and is not the sharpest tool in the barn. An ordinary man who must one day become a hero in order to save his wife and his village from the evil one, whose name will remain unspoken. His wife, Brunilde, isn’t the classic attractive video game princess either, in fact, she’s pretty much the opposite. But the love between them is stronger than anything, and so Rufus armed himself with a broom and a bucket (the former was used as a weapon, the latter as a helmet) to go and save her.
Yes, at the beginning of the game the main character clumsy hero will fight enemies just using only a broom. But later on, crazier weapons like a very long banana or a frozen eel will be available, as well as grotesque upgrade items and powerful but bizarre special skills.
Despite the humorous tone, which is also a parody of the fantasy RPG genre, clumsy hero features solid metroidvania gameplay with nearly 50 levels spread over nine different areas. As such, exploring large maps is an important aspect of the game, which will require special abilities, usually obtained after defeating a strong boss. Ridiculous enemies and friendly NPCs populate the many levels created with detailed backgrounds. The colorful graphics are a mixture of 3D and hand-drawn elements, and the game mechanics are typical of an arcade side-scroller.
Arcade is also pretty much a game-style fighting style that focuses mostly on having fun taking out lots of enemies quickly rather than less challenging fights. Bonus items can be bought from NPCs in various shops scattered around, in hidden chests, or in many but elusive secret rooms.
Developer Nicola Piovesan says: “I wanted to create a truly fun game, not only with its quirky elements and fun dialogue, but also in terms of playability. It’s a metroidvania for everyone.”

Transformed into a blond, duck-faced doll girl, she now spends all her time looking at herself in a small hand mirror. Deciding to get her back, Rufus made a helmet out of a bucket and chose a broom as his weapon. Now everyone calls him a UNSUCCESSFUL HERO, but he may be the only hope to defeat an evil that no one wants to be called by name. Rufus is on his way to save his wife and the entire village!
