When Motion Twin announced that they would partner with Konami to Castlevania content of Dead Cells, you can bet we immediately started sharpening our throwing axes and stocking up on holy water.
Dead Cells: Return To Castlevania is due out at the end of 2018. 1 sq. 2023, so hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on it. The trailer released today may be exceptionally short, but the footage shown looks remarkably authentic to classic Castlevania games like Symphony of the night and Aria of Sorrow. We can’t wait to get our hands on it!
Here’s more info from Motion Twin:
Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is the biggest DLC for Dead Cells to date and the fruit of love from Motion Twin and Evil Empire. With two new biomes to explore, 14 iconic weapons including Castlevania favorites such as the Vampire Slayer, Throwing Ax and Holy Water, and plenty of incredibly undead, dead and mostly dead enemies to get rid of along the way. Every vintage weapon featured in the game has been redesigned to reflect Dead Cells’ fast-paced, frantic combat style, but successfully wielding them won’t be a cakewalk… in the dark.
Featuring insanely tough battles with Dracula and even Death himself, the DLC unfolds an intriguing new storyline that sees Richter Belmont approaching the decapitated after the appearance of a strange, evil castle. Drawn by the promise of new loot more than an ethical sense of duty, players will need to use their best undead fighting skills to defeat the evil within. The battle is accompanied by an alternate soundtrack containing 51 original Castlevania melodies, as well as 12 truly iconic tracks reimagined in the style of Dead Cells.
We will provide more information on the exact release date as soon as we hear it.
