Capcom’s Former Exclusive Switch Monster Hunter Rise Launches Greatly On Steam

Switch Exclusive Monster Hunter Rise was ported to PC this week, and if you’re curious about how it works, we have some data to share.

According to global statistics from Steam, Rise is currently among the top 10 most played games on the platform – with a peak of 90,000+ at the time of writing. This is a pretty impressive start for such a third-party release.

As noted in the tweet below, that should be more than enough to take overall sales to the next level.

Earlier this week, we reviewed Monster Hunter Rise for PC reviews, and one common complaint was that the game doesn’t support cross-play or cross-save.

Unfortunately, Capcom has already released a statement to this effect and does not appear to be able to implement this feature. We anticipate that even more people will play the PC version if cross-platform play is supported.

“We have heard your requests for Cross-Save / Cross-Play for #MHRise and #Sunbreak, but unfortunately after examining them throughout the development process, we found that this time we were unable to implement them. As always, we appreciate your continued feedback and support. “
