Best Microgames Game with WarioWare – Nintendo Life

Over the holidays, we are re-posting some of our best articles, interviews, opinions, and talking points from the previous 12 months. from both employees and participants – Articles that we think represent our best of 2021. In them you will find our usual mixture of thoughtfulness, frivolity and retro. expertise, nostalgia for games and, of course, enthusiasm for everything related to Nintendo. Enjoy!

With the latest in Nintendo’s totally insane WarioWare series, WarioWare: Get It Together! – Recently hitting store shelves, we thought it was time to look back at the franchise and pick the 25 best Microgames out of the 1,000-plus we’ve seen so far.

Naturally, we have not included any of our WarioWare: DIY games as that would be a hoax – obviously our own efforts far exceed those of the Nintendo team. There’s nothing from WarioWare Snapped !, either because it’s a bit crap compared to it. However, all other entries are counted. No, not Nintendo 64DD Mario Artist: Polygon Studio Sonic Bomber Prototype, smart clogs.

Anyway, without further ado, grab the garlic and season the cream of the Microgame crop. Waaaaaa !!!

25. Go to the chase

Command: Undercut

A source: WarioWare Smooth Moves (Wii)

A fun game in which you use your Wii Remote like nail clippers only to show the hand you are cutting is part of an extremely long arm. The laughable visual ingenuity from one of Nintendo’s most creative and aesthetically diverse franchises. Level 3 – Toenail trimming, natch.

24. Wave

Team: Wave!

A source: WarioWare Twisted! (GBA)

For a game aimed at changing your GBA, it’s somewhat surprising how engaging the one-button stage hosted by Kat & Ana really is. Among the many micro-games that require nothing more than pressing the A button, this pink bear’s attempt to join the Mexican wave is the funniest and stupidest. HM! HM! HM! Hroo?

23. Sleep clinic

Team: Hypnotize!

A source: WarioWare: Get Together! (Switch)

Taking control of the selected character, you must manipulate the hanging pocket watch to put the huge background Vario to sleep. Well-known iconography, smart typing, and immersive visuals make this game one of the best Microgames in the pretty homogeneous (if necessary) Get It Together game.

22. Nintendo Arcade Icon

Team: Don’t get caught!

A source: WarioWare: Get Together! (Switch)

We chose this one simply because it reminded us of the Nintendo Badge Arcade, especially the fact that we buy an absolutely ridiculous amount of “moves” with it. These icons were just cool as idiots and we can only hope they come back in some form.

Oh yeah, Microgame. Uh, just avoid your claws? Everything is very simple.

21. Earth Vario 3

Team: Reach for a coin!

A source: WarioWare Gold (3DS)

Vario devours himself again as you take part in the splitting Game Boy Color exploration of Wario Land 3, and you see you take control of Vario himself as he soars up in a bubble to grab one of the in-game items. elusive musical coins. Clever use of WarioWare Gold’s tilt mechanics and a fun blast from the past.

20. You can choose your friends …

Team: To choose!

A source: WarioWare Smooth Moves (Wii)

The series is frankly into nose-picking, but it has never been more tactile than here – swinging the Wii Remote as if it were your own number, you have to powerfully stick it into the giant on-screen nose through the nostril. Delicious and almost as enjoyable as picking your nose.

Wait, this is disgusting. Can we remove this bit? [Nope – Ed]

19. Jumping rope

Team: Bounce!

A source: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame $! (GBA)

Perhaps the cleanest of all WarioWare Microgames, where you just see you rhythmically hitting “A” to jump over the rope as it swings. At higher difficulty levels, you take the form of a bizarre platypus that jumps much lower, followed by the head of a Moai statue (think Gradius) that jumps as well as you’d expect.

18. No solicitors

Team: Stay away!

A source: WarioWare Gold (3DS)

In which Vario dodges taxes by forcing the door to slam shut when a tax man comes to him. All you do is, of course, knead “A”, but this one does a lot with little. Namely, forcing one to think about Vario’s tax reporting. As you can guess, this is pretty bad.

17. Fragile!

Team: Do not move!

A source: WarioWare Twisted! (GBA)

You darted vigorously around the room, trying to defeat the mighty WarioWare Twisted, only to reveal a single fragile egg and the command “Do not move!” Indeed, one movement will cause the egg to fall and shatter, resulting in the game being ruined. And it is in this subversion that WarioWare unleashes its genius again.
