Games are the ideal visual environment, giving each player the opportunity to see fantasy worlds from their own unique perspective. From exploring futuristic landscapes to driving vehicles that you would never get in real life, games have so much to offer that it’s just not possible. As technology has improved, so has the ability to capture these worlds and experiences through photo modes and in-game screenshots, the best of which will be honored at Red Bull Capture Point.

This year, we’re asking creatives to showcase their skills with Guerrilla’s stunning open-world adventure Horizon Forbidden West and Polyphony Digital’s stunning racing sim Gran Turismo 7*, two of the most visually immersive games on PlayStation consoles. We are looking for beautifully framed shots – so shoot and show us your best qualities!

Aspiring photographers can submit photos in four categories, each representing a different theme. There will also be an overall Best in Show winner for each region. Each category will be open for two weeks and will have their own unique requirements which will be posted on Red Bull Gaming Social Media and the website of the competition a few days before the opening of the call for applications. For more information on categories and submission deadlines, please visit redbull.com/capturepoint. Applications are accepted from September 5 to October 30. To enter, players must share their screenshots on Twitter via PlayStation Network using the official Red Bull Capture Point hashtag, which varies by region.

To select the winners, an expert jury ranks entries into categories based on interpretation of the theme, technical execution, and uniqueness of the concept. Alongside this, the best entries will be hand-selected by several notable personalities in the virtual photography scene, including Kate Reed (@kaytanaa, USA), Petri Lev Alahti (@Berduu, Sweden) and lead judge Mick Bromley (@TheFourthFocus, US).

One Best in Show winner per country, nine in total, will be invited to the New York Expo on a paid trip that will include workshops with professional photographers to enhance their skills.
