Atlus releases streaming guide for Persona 5 Royal remaster, and it’s usually strict

Only a few days left before the release of Persona 5 Royal on Switch October 21. Just like clockwork, the game’s publisher, Atlus, has released a note with recommendations for anyone looking to stream the game live or otherwise make walkthrough videos (thanks, Person Central).

As we expected, these recommendations pretty specific (at the beginning of this year it was just as strict for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim). Like those former rules, Persona 5’s recommendations are mostly based on keeping spoilers under wraps, although there are also some concerns about music streaming from the game. Here is the breakdown:

Atlus asks that all streamers include a spoiler warning on any videos related to the game so that everyone is aware of the content of the stream. Seems fair enough.

But wait, this is getting more specific. Atlus is asking players not to stream the final part of the game, which means that video of the final is not allowed.

In order to allow as many users as possible to enjoy Persona 5 Royal, we ask that you refrain from posting the following segment of the game: From December 12th to the end.

In addition to this cutoff point, Atlus also asks streamers not to use background music from the game in their videos, and all uploads must contain the following copyright stamp: ©ATLUS ©SEGA.

If this all seems a bit redundant, it’s because it probably is. Since the game was originally released on PS4 back in 2019/20, spoilers are definitely out there already. That being said, anything that can be done to prevent unwarranted spoilers from reaching people who don’t want to see them is always a plus.
