Angry Birds catapults into Minecraft with its own adventure world

Remember about ten years ago when it seemed to me that Angry Birds and Minecraft started to completely dominate the gaming landscape? Well, after a decade of spin-offs, movies and countless collaborations, the two titanic IPs have joined forces and the Angry Birds adventure world is now available to download in Minecraft.

Available for 1340 Minecoins, which is approximately $9.99, the add-on will let you play as one of six Angry Birds characters, as well as an additional ten character skins.

Here is some release information from Rovio:

“Developed by Oreville Studios, the DLC includes two exciting game modes: Classic mode allows players to launch birds from a giant slingshot to take down swinging pig towers just like in the original Angry Birds games, only now in the beloved blocky style of Minecraft. The Mission Mode provides the player with four unique environments to explore, challenging players to rescue members of the Angry Birds, including Chuck, Bomb, Stella, and more. Once unlocked, the birds become playable characters with their own special abilities. can be used against sworn enemies of the pack, green pigs. Players can also find golden eggs that contain adorable chick friends.”

In other news, Minecraft recently became the third best-selling Switch game in the UK, behind only Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
