For Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater tribute band The 900, it was probably meant to be “just another gig”. Described as “the UK’s first and only Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater cover band”, the band perform numerous covers of THPS1 all the way to American Wasteland and were scheduled to perform at Signature Brew in East London on 30 July.

To the surprise of everyone, including the band, Tony Hawk himself appeared and joined The 900 on stage to perform two of the most popular songs from the Pro Skater series, Goldfinger’s “Superman” and Agent Orange’s “Bloodstains”. It turned what was probably going to be a fairly standard evening for the group into an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

While on stage, Tony Hawk expressed his admiration for the fans and their continued support for Pro Skater games:

“Thank you for such respect. [the songs in our games]. I’m really honored that these games have been going on for so long, and hey, we’re still doing it, right? I should have joined the party!”

It’s such an enjoyable event and we’re honestly incredibly jealous of everyone who was able to attend! It just goes to show how much Tony Hawk loves the series and how much his appearance on the show meant to the band and the public.
