“8-Beat Big Band” wins Grammy for Kirby’s arrangement

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards took place in Las Vegas last night and it was a big deal for Kirby fans (we honestly never thought we’d say those words).

8-bit big bandwhich boasts 194,000 YouTube subscribers, won in the category “Best Instrumental Arrangement or A Cappella” for its excellent interpretation of “Meta Knight’s Revenge” by Kirby Super Star.

The arrangement by Charlie Rosen and Jake Silverman has 230,967 views on YouTube at the time of writing, though we suspect that number will skyrocket after their Grammy win.

It’s worth checking out the band’s other YouTube arrangements, which include the main themes for games like Chrono Trigger and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well as a stunning jazz rendition of Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64.
