Ann Dowd she’s one of the best underrated actresses working right now. She has experience with all genres, but is often cast as cold, stoic characters – much like her role as Aunt Lydia in Hulu’s The servant’s account.

Fourth season he saw an account for several characters, including Lydia. When the last spectators see his character, he picks up the Red Center. When the show enters its fifth season, Lydia will play a major role in the Hulu adaptation Margaret Atwood’s Wills (sequence of The servant’s account), Says Dowd, “There are many ways that Lydia changes, and they are powerful.”

Dowd spoke with THR, and doesn’t go into so much detail but he read the book and looks forward to continuing the story. “It’s a fantastic novel, it’s brilliant.” I listened to the audiobook, which I loved, and I looked forward to it. It happens 15 years later, after the end of the Servants. For anyone who hasn’t read it yet, I’ll remain critical. ”

The actress also discusses how such roles can take on an emotional weight if you hold them too long. “Can you imagine being in that world? No, you’d go crazy,” she says. “When the scenes are particularly emotional or challenging, of course, she’ll stay with you until you let her go. But we don’t take her home because, at the end of the day, the consequences don’t come home with us.”

Over time, it was best to let go of a show once done with the work. “And that’s something I think happens naturally over time, where you’re just a little better at saying good night. Plus, the days are long; you’re tired!”
