If you’ve watched the emergence of Brood X, the one-year-old chocolate in 17 years, and you’ve thought, I want that in my mouth, you are not alone. The cicada consumes plant fluids; the American consumes the cicada; the FDA warns Americans to consume chickpeas. It is the natural order.
This afternoon, the FDA with force he tweeted a warning for cicada eaters:

Don’t eat it #cicadas if you are allergic to seafood since these insects have a family relationship with shrimp and lobster.
The FDA has linked to a general page on major food allergens that does not include cicadas at this time.
However, Haley Weiss, who recently reviewed a cicada dinner experience for The Atlantic, confirmed a shrimp taste in “more meaty” treatments. (Weiss checked the suspicions that the roasted variety with the juicy inside was awful but recommended the more air-fried popcorn-chickpea-crab essence for a minimum of unpleasantness – “not bad!”)
