Just like its pretty stellar First season coming to an end, it has been confirmed that Spy x Family anime will be back. During Jump Festa this weekend, the show confirmed that a second season is in active development and will release sometime in 2023.

Along with that, the series will also get its first feature film sometime next year. Details were scarce, but manga creator Tetsuya Endo is reportedly creating an original story for the film and coming up with new designs for all the characters involved. Endo also released a fashionable new visual celebrating the announcement of both the film and the upcoming season, which you can check out below.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, it’s about master spy Loyd Forger adopting a young girl named Anya in order to get closer to a high-ranking politician in a neighboring country. To further sell the family man’s corner and keep Anya safe, Loyd ties up a clerk named Yor to pose as his wife. The twist here is that Yor is secretly a high-profile assassin who also must pretend to be a normal person; she and Loyd don’t know each other’s double life, but Anya does, because she is a telepath. There is also a dog named Bond who can see into the future.

spy x family has really caught on with viewers since the first half of its debut season premiered in April, with the second half returning in October. Given how much it was enjoyed, a second season seemed like a sure thing, but the movie less so. But Cloverworks and WIT picked a pretty good time to make the film, as anime films, especially those based on popular manga, tend to pretty good at the box office when they hit Japan and finally in the USA.

First season spy x family available on Crunchyroll and Hulu, and the season finale will air next week on Christmas Eve.
