Legacy of Jupiter premiere on Netflix just a month ago, and the streamer has already decided it’s a take on the superhero series based on Mark Millar and Frank Quitely Leaving Jupiter comics. But it’s not the end for this Millarverse scoundrel; instead, the property pivots toward an anthology format that will explore other characters in it.
As well as Limit, who had the scoop, she explains, instead of continuing with Legacy of Jupiter actually, Netflix is now pursuing “a universe that embraces an anthology franchise. The streamer has established a live-action adaptation of Supercrooks, which delves into the history of Millarworld super-villains, as the next installment of the Leaving Jupiter saga. “And stars of Leaving Jupiter, including Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, and Ben Daniels, have been released from their Netflix contracts. “We’re sure we’ll be back later,” Millar told the commercial without elaborating, and Deadline notes that it could mean “a different iteration” for the series.
As for Supercrooks, is ready familiar-butter, Netflix has already a serious anime based on comics by Millar and artist Leinil Francis Yu to come later this year. This just announced The series will be live-action and is described as “a return to the world of Legacy of Jupiter with a gang of super-bad guys, cun-artists, petty thieves, and leg-breakers who all come together for the theft of the century and the most scandalous crime story you’ve ever had seen in your life, ”which frankly sounds a lot more interesting than that Legacy of Jupiter‘s family drama stuff. Since the series overlaps there is a possibility that Leaving Jupiter characters might figure on the show, but it’s just speculation at this point.
