NASA will send two missions to Venus by 2030

Earlier last year, NASA awarded four teams $ 3 million each the space agency could expand into complete expeditions. Now he predicts move forward with two of these projects, and there is a common theme of Venus among them.

The first of these is called the Deep Venus Investigation of Noble Gases, Chemistry and Imaging, or DAVINCI + in short and something that is less mouth-watering. The vessel will travel to Venus to take high-resolution photos of the planet’s surface and its unique geological features, including its continental shells. It must also launch a “sphere of descent” that will travel through the planet’s atmosphere collecting data on the gases located here. The hope is that DAVINCI + will help scientists determine if Venus , and to understand how the planet has become so green.

The second mission, VERITAS or Venus Emissivity, Radio Science, InSAR, Topography, and Spectroscopy, will travel the planet to create detailed three-dimensional maps of its surface using a synthetic aperture radar. It will also track infrared emissions from the surface to map the tricks of its rocks, which is something scientists don’t know much about. With VERITAS, NASA hopes to gain a better understanding of the workings of geological forces on Venus and to understand why the planet has developed so differently from Earth.

To make these projects a reality, NASA is providing everyone with about $ 500 million in funding. The agency says it expects them to launch from Earth sometime between 2028 and 2030. Both DAVINCI + and VERITAS have come out of their predicament. , which sees scientists launching NASA on relatively low-cost missions. One of the most recent items to come out of the program was the .
