JJ Abrams says the movie “Portal” is still in operation

JJ Abrams first floated the possibility of a Portal film eight years ago, but since then there has been so much noise. Don’t worry, though – move on at last. Abrams he said IGN than a script for the Portal flick is currently underway at Warner Bros., and that team was excited about the angle for the production. According to Abrams, the focus of the games ’narrow narrative left a“ huge ”potential for the film.

Abrams did not nominate the writers or anyone else attached to the production, but acknowledged the pressure to bring back JK Simmons for direct action against Aperture Science founder Cave Johnson.

You may not want to get and your hopes for one Half-Life movie, though. Abrams said his Bad Robot team was “not actively involved” with the story of Gordon Freeman and his lever. The producer of the film didn’t say why, but it wouldn’t be amazing. While Half-Life it’s cooler in the minds of players thanks to Alyx, also has a strictly regimented plot that will give a film studio less room for interpretation.

You want to be patient for u Portal adaptation as it is. Video game movies have a history of drawn productions that are not guaranteed to disappear. Just ask Uncharted fans – that movie was in development hell in 2016 after several years of work, and is now planned premiered in February 2022. It could be a while before Chell, GlaDOS and the crew make their big-screen debut, and even a strong script needs a capable director and an acting quality to do it justice.
