Jackbox offers “practice friends” to rebuild your social skills

There is good luck to you social skills have atrophied after more than a year of COVID-19 blocks, and Jackbox Games thinks it may help to remember how human now that the pandemic is finally (hopefully? Maybe? please?) settling down. Starting next week, Jackbox will give you the opportunity to share free “practice friends” that will remind you how to get in touch with other people. You will need it sign up and compete for a limited amount of time, but enter and have 30 minutes of “no judgment”Jackbox Party Pack play time with equipment that will help you brush up on the art of conversation.

Of course, this is partly a pitch for Jackbox software. Get some quality time with those practice friends and also get a code to copy Jackbox Party Pack 7, apparently to share your restored social graces with others.

We asked Jackbox for more information on how this will work, including who you will meet and how long the initiative will last.

Is it a marketing tactic? Absolutely. But it’s also a symbolic moment – it marks the end of a long, long stretch of having to socialize with most people through video chats. If all goes well, it will be a promotion campaign that you will never see again.
