How should video games be adapted?

The past few years have seen a series of successful films and shows based on video games, primarily from Netflix… With future sci-fi franchise TV series Mass Effect and Halo in development, plus also based on various Ubisoft properties such as Assassin’s Creed, Gamers are eager to see some of their favorite franchises (hopefully) transition successfully to another medium. But the main question is how these games should be presented in the future.

Netflix animatedadaptations of games such as Castlevania, DOTA, and Witcher were noted as pleasant, if not new, peaks of the genre thanks to the work done by the respective studios. Live action is a completely different beast. Sometimes there is a classic like the original Mortal Kombat, Detective Pikachu, and surprisingly good Sonic the hedgehogBut all too often, versions of these games with real human actors fail to figure out what the hell it is, as we saw in the game. Mortal Kombat reboot, Prince of Persia, and Need for Speed… Was many video games that took the leap into life, and more that tried and got stuck in development hell. (Remember how we were supposed to make films for Bioshock, Gears of War, and Notorious? Good times.) The stigma against animation, in the west at least, means that the live-action versions undoubtedly carry a greater sense of legitimacy and prestige, and AAA games were more than happy to present themselves as interactive films… But in a sense, this is an adaptation problem for some games: yyou can States that Naughty dog ​​dear Uncharted and The last of us, plus shooter from Gearbox Borderlands, will just turn into costly repetitions of moments that players were emotionally attached to years ago.
