PlayStation fans will have to wait until 2022 to play Horizon Forbidden West, according to Bloomberg… The publication reports that the company has postponed the release of the next big PS5 and PS4 exclusive to next year, pushing it back from its current release dates for the 2021 holiday season.
Ahead of today’s news, Sony hinted at a possible delay last month when the company posted an interview with PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst. “For Horizon, we think we’ll be releasing this holiday season soon,” Hulst said. said at the time… “But that’s not entirely accurate yet, and we are working hard to confirm it to you as soon as we can.” It is not clear at the moment what is behind the delay.
If Sony does delay Forbidden West it’s not the only exclusive to miss its previously announced 2021 release date. Earlier this year, the company detained both Gran turismo 7 and next post God of War in 2022. Just last week, Bethesda also postponed Ghostwire: Tokyo, an upcoming PlayStation 5 and PC horror game from Tango Gameworks through early 2022.
