Halloween kills is out tomorrow in 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD, and we’ve got a chance to take a look at one of the bonus features. In general, the release includes original theatrical version film, as well as an extended version with an alternate ending, as well as extended and deleted scenes, a gag video and behind-the-scenes footage.

The clip that io9 has today refers to the latter: a close-up of Michael Myers’ mask in Halloween killswhich was accurately modeled after the mask worn in Original by John Carpenter 1978 (which is known to be William Shatner’s mask, painted eerily blank white). As the film’s makeup artist Christoper Nelson explains, “It looks like an old-fashioned latex Halloween mask,” albeit with extreme attention is paid to the tiny details that make it unique, as you can see in the video below:

“We have dissected this mask for 40 years,” says Nelson, adding that even the matted hair of the wig attached to the mask has been extremely careful. “Some people said, ‘Chris, there is a strand of hair sticking out there, can you figure that out?” [down]? And I’m like, “Oh no, no. That It has to be there. If not, then it is not “Form 78”.

Accuracy was especially important, of course, since Halloween kills –which relies heavily on topics about how past trauma affects present behavior– actually includes a flashback from 1978, offering new perspectives on the fateful night of October 31, when Michael, also known as Form, first threatened Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her friends. Halloween kills currently out in digital with 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow; the final chapter in the sequel-reboot trilogy directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween endswill arrive on October 14th.
