Clubhouse adds spatial audio to create more immersive audio chats.

Clubhouse revolves around audio chats, so wouldn’t it make sense if they were more like rooms? Now they will if you have the right equipment. Company rolling out Spatial audio support in the Clubhouse iOS app, giving you and your members a more “realistic” dialogue. You can remember who is speaking based on where their voice comes from, not just how they sound.

This feature will “slowly” reach all new iOS users starting today and will be the default (you can turn it off if you like). Android is “coming soon,” said the Clubhouse. We asked the company if you need in-ear headphones or headphones that clearly support spatial audio, such as AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.

This add-on probably won’t force you to choose Clubhouse over Live Audio Rooms Facebook or Twitter Spaces. However, it can give you a reason to stick with Clubhouse, and it can be especially useful if flat chats seem too out of touch with reality.
