China’s Tianwen-1 mission has successfully landed on Mars

Last summer, the Chinese National Space Administration has launched its Tianwen-1 mission to Mars, and now the country’s press agencies like it Xinhua and CGTN reports that the probe has landed. The mission consists of an orbiter, a lander and a full-size rover with a golf cart. Nicknamed Zhurong, the rover will now begin making images and self-inspections before spreading over the planet’s surface.

Many countries have crashed trying to land rovers on Mars, but this should make CNSA the second agency, along with NASA, to have a working robot on the surface of the planet.
