Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland on Hulu, Adult Swim

Entertainment companies are cutting ties with ‘Rick and Morty’ co-creator and star Justin Roiland after it was revealed he was facing felony domestic violence charges.

Hulu said on Wednesday that it will no longer work with Roiland. according to NBC News. He entered into a general agreement with the streamer and produced his animated series Solar Opposites and Koala Man.

Roiland co-wrote and co-starred in Solar Opposites, as well as executive producer and voice actor for Koala Man, which premiered earlier this year. Both shows are expected to continue without him and his roles will be recast.

Hulu’s announcement came shortly after Cartoon Network-owned Adult Swim also cut ties with Roiland over the allegations. Roiland helped create the popular animated series Rick and Morty, which premiered in 2013. Roiland voiced both Rick and Morty.

In 2020, Roiland pleaded not guilty to one count of domestic violence with bodily harm and one count of false imprisonment by threat, violence, fraud and/or deceit in Orange County, California. The allegations stem from an alleged incident with a woman Roiland was dating at the time.

Roiland also works for Squanch Games, a video game company he co-founded in 2016. statement last week he received Roiland’s resignation.

CNBC contacted Roiland T. Edward Welborn’s attorney Wednesday afternoon. “We look forward to clearing Justin’s name and helping him move forward as quickly as possible,” Welburn previously wrote in a statement.

Roiland is due back in court for another hearing on April 27.
