President Joe Biden traveled to Fort Myers, Florida on Wednesday to discuss the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
Prior to speaking, Biden toured the storm-affected areas, was briefed by officials on the ground, and met with local residents and small business owners affected by the storm.
Hurricane Ian hit Florida a week ago as a Category 4 storm before moving up the US East Coast. The storm has reportedly killed more than 80 people, although the number is expected to increase as flood waters recede and rescue teams gain access to new areas.
The hurricane promises to be the costliest hurricane to hit Florida since Andrew in 1992, with wind and storm surge damage estimated at between $28 billion and $47 billion.
