Fauci, CDC’s Walenski and Others Testify Before Congress About US Response to Covid

Senior U.S. health officials are due to testify Thursday before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions at a hearing on the Covid-19 pandemic.

White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is also director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is due to speak with Dr. Rochelle Walenski, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Janet Woodcock, Acting FDA Commissioner, and Don O’Connell, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, US Department of Health and Human Services, are also scheduled to speak.

The meeting will take place two days after US health officials approved the distribution of doses of Pfizer vaccine to children aged 5-11. According to the White House, 28 million children in the United States are currently eligible for vaccination.
