The Atlanta Braves won their first World Series championship in more than 20 years and helped some of Major League Baseball’s top tournaments recover in terms of rankings.
The 2021 World Series averaged 11.75 million viewers across six matches played by the Braves against the Houston Astros on Fox Sports. The final game in the series drew 14.3 million viewers, up from 12.6 million in Game 6 of the 2020 World Series. Fox Sports reported that the final game on TV alone averaged 13.9 million viewers.
The Braves beat the Astros 7-0 on Tuesday to win their first World Series since 1995. Braves Efielder Jorge Soler won the World Series MVP after finishing the streak with three home runs, six RBIs and a .300 average.
The rankings are a significant rebound from last season’s World Series, which ended a season shortened by the Covid-19 pandemic and allowed the Los Angeles Dodgers to win their first championship since 1988. This six-game streak averaged 9.7 million viewers and collected only a draw. Game 1 was watched by 9.1 million people on TV – the least watched World Series game in history.
The 2019 World Series drew 23 million viewers to Game 7 between the Astros and Washington Nationals, with an average of around 13 million viewers. This Game 7 also helped Fox generate over $ 400 million in total ad revenue. AdAge…
The 2018 five-game world series between the Red Sox and the Dodgers attracted an average of about 14 million viewers, while the Astros World Series 2017 victory over the Dodgers attracted an average of 18.9 million viewers over seven games.
The latest world streak will take place this season on Fox’s current $ 4.2 billion deal with MLB. In 2018, the network extended the deal for $ 5.1 billion and will last until the 2028 season.

Search analytics company EDO noted that fitness equipment advertisements were among the advertisements that generated the most interest from World Series viewers.
San Francisco-based fitness company Tonal chosen basketball star LeBron James in an ad for his nearly $ 3,000 stationary strength machine. EDO reported that Tonal had about 111,000 requests for its product after the ad went live.
EDO uses search software to measure the online search activity of brands within minutes of a TV ad. The company told CNBC that ads for Walmart, TikTok, and the upcoming movie “Gucci’s House” were among the top searches.
EDO estimates that advertisers spent over $ 156 million on the 2021 World Series.
Advertising company MediaRadar predicted 284 companies would advertise during the 2021 World Series, up from 313 at last year’s event.
MediaRadar collects advertising data from marketers across a variety of media channels, including TV and online. The company said the advertisers with the highest spending for the 2021 MLB Championship include Indeed, Geico, Google Pixel ads, TikTok, and Dell.
