Bill Murray reflects on the inappropriate behavior that led to the closure of his latest film

Bill Murray is still reflecting on his inappropriate behavior that last week led to a production halt on Searchlight Pictures’ Being Mortal.

On Saturday, the actor told CNBC he was “at odds” with the woman he worked with on the film, saying, “I did something that I thought was funny and it wasn’t taken that way.”

Murray said he spent the last week thinking about the incident. He did not specify what was said and to whom.

“At the moment we are talking and trying to make peace with each other,” Murray said in a special interview during the Berkshire Hathaway earnings event. “We’re both professionals, we love each other’s work, we like each other, I think, and if we can’t really get along and trust each other, there’s no point in continuing to work together or making a movie. education for me.

Being Mortal is based on Atul Gawande’s non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters Ultimately, in which Murray co-stars with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogan. The film was about half finished before production was halted. Its release is scheduled for 2023, but it is not clear if Murray will continue working on the project.

He said he was optimistic that “we’re going to make up” and that production would resume, but noted that he would only do so if it was convenient for the woman involved in the incident.

“I think it’s a sad dog that can’t learn anymore,” Murray said of learning from his mistakes. “This is a really sad puppy who can no longer learn. I don’t want to be such a sad dog and I don’t intend to.”

“What would make me the happiest is that I put on my boots and we both get back to work and can trust each other and work at a job that we both spent a lot of time developing skills in. ,” he said.
