Bed Bath & Beyond continues to close underperforming establishments, with dozens of closings planned for early this year.

The company has released a list of 37 locations spread across 19 states where liquidation sales have already begun and stores are expected to close by the end of February. It includes five Bed Bath stores in California, seven in New York and one in New Jersey.

In 2020, Bed Bath announced that it plans to close around 200 of its main banner stores over two years as part of its broader recuperation efforts. It is also in the process of redeveloping locations to reduce clutter and add more vibrant signage and new brands.

When Bed Bath reported third-quarter financial results on Wednesday, the home goods retailer said it has closed around 170 stores so far and is still on track to hit 200 by the end of the year.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Tritton told analysts that the company will consider additional closings in the future. It also owns the BuyBuy Baby banner, which became a bright spot for businesses in the last quarter as home and bathroom sales slowed at Bed Bath.

“We are undergoing a full-scale transformation while doing business in a highly unpredictable environment,” Tritton said during his earnings conference call.

Bed Bath’s shares have dropped by about 31% over the past 12 months.
